Fashioning Fashion

Mittlerweile habe auch ich es geschafft, die Ausstellung "Fashioning Fashion - Europäische Moden 1700 - 1915" im Deutschen Historischen Museum in Berlin zu besuchen.
Die Ausstellung ist relativ klein, d. h., selbst wenn man sich Zeit lässt, ist man in einer guten Stunde durch.
Speziell für Liebhaber dieser Epochen ist es ein "Old-Fashion-Paradies".
Ich war erstaunt wie präzise und fein die Stoffe gearbeitet wurden und wie aktuell einige Muster auch heute noch sind.
Etwas befremdlich jedoch waren die Fetischstiefel. Ja, richtig gelesen, so etwas gab es tatsächlich schon im 18. Jahrhundert. Und das beste daran, sie sehen nicht anders aus als die heutigen.
Ansonsten gibt es hübsche Fächer, glitzernde Knöpfe, sehr kleine (!) Schuhe, Häubchen, Hüte, Reifröcke...

Die ausgestellten Exponate könnt ihr euch noch, nachdem ihr 8,00 EUR gelöhnt habt, bis zum 29. Juli ansehen.

Finally, I've done it, I visited the exhibition "Fashioning Fashion - European fashions 1700 - 1915" in the German Historical Museum in Berlin.
The exhibition is small but nice. Even if you take your time, you're through it in an hour.
Especially for lovers of these periods, it's an "old-fashion paradise."
I was amazed how precise and dignified worked the materials were and how current some of the patterns still are.
But the fetish boots were really strange. Yes, you read correctly, they had stuff like that already in the 18th Century. And the best part, they looked not a whit different than today.
Furthermore there are nice pockets, glittering buttons, very small (!) shoes, bonnets, hats, hoop skirts ...

The exhibition is open until July, 29th and you have to pay 8,00 EUR.
